name callers in search of an encouraging word-
in the beginning we went out on a limb
we gave our real life character an acronym
then we used his formal name robert
but both choices were too cursory, too curt

yeah ''b c b b'' lacked identity
and robert was stuffy and bobby had no maturity
so we're gonna stick with plain ole bob
bob doesn't butter ya up like ya were a corn on the cob

yeah buddy in the hobby lobby of life--bob just ushers ya
inside---
as if ya were kickin' up your heels on the midwestern hayride
the name is folksy and has that farm-fresh feel-
like ya was at the county fair lookin' down from the ferris
wheel

that's right pal-for lack of a proper noun-we just call him
bob
just plain old high plains bob---bob the corn blob bob
just plain bob--get it thru your noggin'
plain bob---say it again and again

friends, around these here parts, bob is family
he's simply dyed in the wooly-bully
that is he ain't no outsider/no children of the corn
ain't no man with a hoe all forlorn

moreover and over we's ain't sayin' bob's a rat-a-tat tat tat
action hero
and we ain't makin' em' out to be a strict stern character
all auster-o
and by ''blob'' we mean of a thick consistency
and by ''corn'' we ain't inferin'/implyin' a lack of
originality

lookety look what you see is what you got
and the rest is likely store bought
but when it comes to bob, the corn blob bob----
he lives by the ''no slobs in bob's jobs''

why just as bob is spelled the same forwards and backwards
the old corn blob won't leave you falling back on your swords
bob makes the workplace a worthplace
adds a real getty up to the human race
